- Worked for 30 years with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Was assigned for various periods of time to Zaire, Geneva, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Japan and Russia Upon retirement, established the Foundation for Microprojects in Vietnam in 2000 to fund small-scale infrastructure projects in Vietnam. This was subsequently extended to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Born in the US, I live near Geneva, Switzerland, and divide my time between Geneva and Hanoi, Vietnam.
